As ICSA President, I am proud to lead an organization dedicated to advancing the global understanding of cellular senescence—a complex biological phenomenon with profound implications for aging, development, regeneration, and disease.

Our mission is to foster excellence in research, collaboration, and education across all facets of cellular senescence. We aim to build a dynamic, inclusive, and interdisciplinary community of scientists, clinicians, and industry leaders who are united by a shared commitment to unravel the mechanisms of senescence and harness this knowledge to improve human health.

Through a wide range of initiatives, we actively promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and methodologies, support innovative and collaborative research efforts, and facilitate the translation of discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic. We are equally committed to mentoring early-career scientists, encouraging emerging talent, and setting rigorous standards for experimental design and data sharing in senescence research.
ICSA also serves as a central platform for disseminating the latest advances in the field, organizing high-impact scientific meetings, developing consensus guidelines, and representing the interests of our community in broader scientific and policy discussions. We believe that meaningful progress in the field of cellular senescence can only be achieved through global cooperation, transparency, and open scientific dialogue.
Ultimately, our work is driven by a shared vision: to leverage the biology of senescence for the benefit of society, whether through combating age-related diseases, improving regenerative medicine, or understanding the fundamental processes that shape organismal health and longevity.
