It is truly an honour to serve as the ICSA President, and we are very proud of our tradition of collaborative, open and global initiatives.
ICSA’s long-standing mission is to foster excellence in research, collaboration, and education across all aspects of senescence.
As a complex and nuanced cellular programme, senescence sits at the crossroads between health and disease, regeneration and ageing. By strengthening the bonds between basic, translational, and clinical perspectives, ICSA aims to drive innovation in understanding senescence, harnessing this knowledge to support healthy longevity.
Through a breadth of activities, we act as a platform to facilitate the collaborative exchange of scientific knowledge and expertise, further increase inclusivity, nurture and champion our vibrant early-career researchers, and foster engagement with clinicians and industry. We organise high-impact scientific meetings, act as a hub for developing community-driven consensus guidelines, and cultivate communication within the wider scientific community.
Through these interlinked initiatives, we strive to safeguard the calibre of senescence research, setting the highest standards for experimental design, data sharing and reporting. By promoting open, transparent and collaborative approaches to scientific exchanges, we work to deliver a shared vision where senescence research leads to tangible societal benefits.
ICSA is here to work with you to be a leading advocate for scientific excellence, dissemination and impact. We are on this journey together, so if you have bright ideas and suggestions please get in touch. We would love to hear from you!
